Nowadays many are the companies which think that prevention can be carried out by external bodies -that is, without integrating it within the company’s structure-, as they believe that the role of these bodies is basically a formal and paperwork one. To change this corporate view is essential, because prevention must be integrated within the main corporate management system. Fortunately though, more and more companies willingly adopt ‘quality systems’, ‘environmental management systems’, ‘social responsibility systems’ -and finally ‘occupational risk prevention systems’. These companies clearly understand that integrating these systems optimize the efficient use of corporate resources, which in turn improves quality, productivity and competitiveness. Within this vision, and taking profit from the fifth edition of Laboralia (the Global Fair on Occupational Health and Safety Protection) which will be hold in Valencia (Spain) on May 27th to 29th, we will welcome the INMAS Forum 2009 on May 28th and 29th and its wide array of lectures made by internationally recognized experts on the field. Workshops will also enable to debate and exchange professional information on the most pressing occupational risk prevention issues, as it can be seen from the programme. The Valencian autonomous government encourages you once more to come to Laboralia and participate in all INMAS Forum 2009 activities, as a way to update knowledge and continuously improve occupational safety and health. The need to enhance occupational risk prevention gives all its sense to the celebration of meetings such as INMAS Forum 2009, to which you are all warmly welcome.
